Building on the legendary tradition established by Mat Laibowitz and Elisha Wiesel from 2007–2015, and carried forward as Compass from 2017–2023 under the creative direction of Ben Hoffstein and Colin Teichholtz, Midnight Madness continues its evolution as one of the world’s most spectacular puzzle hunts. This immersive, interactive competition invites teams to test their wit, grit, and teamwork across a series of ingeniously crafted challenges over the course of an epic 12-hour adventure.
Imagine the thrill of “The Amazing Race” converging with the genius of “The Davinci Code” while the streets of Manhattan unfold like a treasure map beneath your feet. Players see New York as never before, gaining exclusive access to some of the city’s most beloved landmarks, as well as its most carefully guarded secrets. To participate, teams fundraise or have an employer sponsor their entry fee. Every tax-free contribution goes to aid one of NYC’s most beloved charities: Good Shepherd Services.
Good Shepherd Services is a leading multi-service organization working to expand opportunities for children, youth, and families in historically underinvested NYC communities through academic enrichment, supportive housing, career development, and family well-being services. With a long-standing tradition of responding to critical community needs since the 1800s, today they work with over 30,000 participants using a strength-based youth and family development approach. They operate over 100 programs in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, united by a common goal — creating opportunities to help participants succeed at school, home, and community.
